World Cup 2014- Jerseys unveiled

I don’t know how you feel, but I am very excited for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. I love the spirit that a World Cup soccer tournament brings. Not every country is passion about Soccer (aka America!!), but a World Cup brings out the soccer lover in everyone. It’s a chance to get behind your country and show your passion for a sport that might not always be your favorite. You can’t help but have pride to cheer on your country in such a big sporting event.

Check out the video below which shows the media attention for the unveiling of the Brazil soccer jersey.

The new jersey releases have caused a lot of interest, some negative and some positive. It’s a tradition and part of the hugely built up pre World Cup buzz. Most of the jerseys stay within their limits in terms of color, but they can change a lot in those four years. It is all about the details, this could include removal or addition of small colors, collars, texture, or patterns. The home jerseys of a nation usually stay somewhat the same, but away jerseys can drastically change. Below I have included a few of my opinion of the best and worst new World Cup jerseys.

  • England: I couldn't help but pick England as one of my favorite jerseys. I like the sleekness of the kit and the fact that it is basic but effective. Lets hope it is a winning kit!!

  • Switzerland: What a terrible jersey! Could Puma make it anymore skin tight? I'm really not a fan of this and think that it really doesn't represent their country in any way apart from being red.

  • Japan: I love the look of this jersey. It really represents Japan and also has a very professional, down to business type feel to it. The stripey star across the chest gives it a classy look. I'm sure they are going to do well this year.

  • Chile: Not really a fan of the collars on Chile's new World Cup jersey. It doesn't have much detail on the shirt, and then includes a blue color. Not a nice touch!

What is your opinion of the jerseys I have picked for the best and worst?
